The Lie Feels Good

Ideology Isn’t Believed, It’s Performed
They don’t believe what they say.
They enjoy it.
Every chant, every comment, every cable news dopamine drip... it’s not about truth.
It’s about the pleasure of being right. The comfort of knowing who the villain is. The orgasmic relief of not having to think.
What we’re watching isn’t a crisis of misinformation.
It’s a theatre of libidinal reinforcement.
You’re wasting your breath arguing.
Facts don’t land.
Evidence bounces off.
Debate doesn’t move them, because the belief isn’t cognitive. It’s chemical.
It’s ritual.
It’s reward.
It’s sex and death and story, all dressed up in freedom slogans.
And here we are... still trying to out-fact a drug.
You think the rally chant is about bail reform?
No.
It’s about the thrill of control.
The buzz of anger.
The psychological hit of purity.
Their “common sense” isn’t common and it isn’t sense.
It’s a performed certainty, rehearsed in echo chambers, sustained by media architecture, and glued together by identity.
This is not ideology.
It’s performance.
I went to the Conservatives' "Stop the Crime" rally in Brampton last week to ask people about Pierre Poilievre and his agenda Supporters talked about bail reform, immigration, woke ideologies, and communism My latest for @breachmedia.ca www.youtube.com/watch?v=hsdi...

System Insight:
Let’s strip the mechanism.
- Narrative Compression
Every belief is reduced to a meme.
A slogan.
Three words max.
Short enough to chant.
Sticky enough to share.
This isn’t communication, it’s priming.
Every time they repeat it, they get a little reward.
Likes. Applause. A sense of tribe.
- Libidinal Loops
The pleasure isn’t in being right.
It’s in feeling right.
Anger is addictive.
Fear creates intimacy.
Blame creates moral superiority.
They don’t argue to change your mind.
They perform to affirm their own.
- Surveillance Reinforcement
Their tribe is always watching.
So they say what keeps them safe inside the group.
Dissent isn’t dangerous because it’s wrong... it’s dangerous because it threatens exile.
Deploying more facts doesn’t interrupt this.
It strengthens it.
You become the enemy they need to justify their identity.
The only thing that interrupts performance is friction.
Deployment Path:
You don’t dismantle this with education.
You build counter-architecture.
- Disrupt the Pleasure
Mock the ritual.
Unmask the payoff.
Make the performance visible.
Example:
“That’s not a belief. That’s a dopamine loop with a slogan.”
- Install Friction Loops
Drop narrative landmines.
Statements that short-circuit the reward.
Example:
“If your opinion can’t survive a question, it’s not yours.”
- Reverse the Frame
Flip the identity.
Make the lie a sign of weakness.
Example:
“Blind obedience isn’t strength. It’s just easier than thinking.”
- Build Truth Architecture
Create media systems, not just content.
Create repetition machines for reality.
Build rituals of awareness, not outrage.
You don’t need more information.
You need infrastructure.
So stop asking why they believe.
Start asking what they get out of it.
You’re not arguing with minds.
You’re interrupting performances.
Rip the applause away.
Starve the script.
And when the silence hits,
build something they can actually stand on.
This isn’t education.
It’s narrative warfare.
What you do next isn’t up to them.
It’s up to you.
You build.
Or you drift.

They don’t believe it.
They enjoy it.
Ideology today isn’t held, it’s performed.
Righteous outrage is a drug.
And every chant is a dopamine hit dressed as policy.
You won’t break it with facts.
Only friction interrupts the ritual.
